The CO2 will become into liquid when the temperature is between 5-8℃ and the pressure is above 4.5Mpa. The chiller system can keep the CO2 circulation system in the temperature range of 5-8℃.The CO2 high pressure pump can pump the CO2 liquid into the extractors and increase the pressure to high pressure range of 35Mpa(the maximum pressure can be customized), and the pressure can be adjusted by back pressure regulator valve. The heating system can provide a suitable temperature to extractors and separators, and the temperature can be adjusted automatically.
The extraction and separation process can be described as following steps.
1.Start running the chiller and heating system.(temperatures will meet the set points)
2.Loading raw biomass material into the cylinder of extractor.
3.Start running the CO2 high pressure pump, pumping CO2 into the extractor to increase the pressure to the optimized parameter.(Most of materials extraction pressure is between 15-35Mpa).
4.After the pressure meet the set point, open valve and let CO2 fluid circulated in the whole system. The CO2 fluid will enter into the extractor from the bottom, come out from top through raw biomass material. The valuable ingredients will be dissolved into the CO2 when CO2 go through, and come out together with CO2. The extraction happened.
5.The mixture of CO2 and valuable ingredients which come out from extractor will enter into the separators. The valuable
ingredients will be separated with CO2 in separators because of the separator has lower pressure, the valuable ingredients will be stored inside the separator and can be collected after 30 min extraction time.
6.Normally the extraction time is around 90 min if the oil rate is less than 20%, extraction time will be longer if the material
oil rate is higher.
